My Blog, the TasBushBlog

Confederation of Bushwalking Clubs NSW
Plenty of general bushwalking information here - The infamous Bushwalking FAQ is kept here. Lots of good stuff in it, but slanted the way the writer(s) think, and not all of it is instantly useable in Tasmanian conditions.

John Chapman's website - John's site has quite a lot of good information about Tasmanian walking venues, including stuff linked from his Tasmanian page.

Hobart Walking Club.

The Melbourne Bushwalkers have a lot of links at their site.

Bushwalking Victoria have a lot of info on their site

The Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service - This website has a lot of good info. Try these specific pages also:

Their bushwalking page for safety, environment and equipment info

Their National Parks Guides for info about all Tasmania's National Parks

Tourism Tasmania info for the Huon Valley

Huon Valley Council

"The 'Huon Trail' begins south of Hobart. It takes you through the Huon Valley, D'Entrecasteaux Channel & Bruny Island - a region of waterways & wilderness; art, craft & heritage; apple blossom and vineyards; farmers, foresters and fishermen."

Good Food and Fine Wine at the Huon Manor
My personal recommendation as an eating stop in Huonville.

Forestry Tasmania - many walks are accessed along forestry roads - sometimes these are closed. You can check any closures by contacting the regional office for the area. This site also has a vast amount of information related to forests.

Tasmanian Times - Tends not to agree with the government, and well worth a read.
